What a wonderful journey this has been.
I met Rita at the very end of 2024 and we have been working together ever since. At 89 she has started a business and quite frankly she is one of the most inspiring people I have ever met.
Whenever I am having a blue day I tell myself to ‘be more Rita’. Her enthusiasm to embrace new technology combined with her exquisite art really makes her a force to be reckoned with.
It all started with a chat over coffee about creating artist brand photography for her.
It soon became apparent that we were starting almost from scratch to design and then to create and build a new website for Rita’s oil paintings.

The brief was to plan and create all of the imagery and copy (words) for her new website. I then also designed the layout and flow of the website too before it was briefed to a web development company already known to my Client.
In addition to brand imagery of Rita and imagery showcasing how she paints, I also photographed in a studio setting; all of her paintings that are for sale (more on those in a later blog). And then we progressed the brief further into the supporting imagery needed for social media too.

And then further again with the requirements for her initial blog posts which included using images we had planned and taken for this very purpose in advance as well as the accompanying copy.

I asked Rita my usual questions upon completing the project (we continue to work together on other areas of her business which I am very happy about!) and am delighted to share these with you…

A: “Because I realised very quickly that Nikki was a very talented photographer and person in her professional field.”

A: “I saw Nikki in a the Artmanac Magazine for artists whilst I had an exhibition at The Spring Gallery in Montpellier, Cheltenham. After our first meeting I realised that Nikki is a really easy person to work with.”

A: “I could see straight away from the photographs that Nikki was taking for her other Clients that the images she would be taking for me would move my business forward.”

A: “Being with Nikki and seeing the professional way in which she handled the photography shoot.”

A: “Yes. The planning session most certainly helped, for now and into the future.”

A: “Go to Nikki and work with her!”

A: “I needed imagery of me, my paintings, and the way I paint/the brushwork detail that goes into my art. The way that Nikki took the photographs and the detail she captured of the paint work within the paintings became the driving force.”
