“Nikki, as always was a pro – well prepared and we captured a lot of images on the day which will support our marketing plan for 2024 events, weddings and bouquet work. Always a pleasure and loads of fun to boot!!”
The Tetbury Flower Company flower farm was in full flower when I went to catch up with owner Rachel and to take these gorgeous photographs to create the latest collection of images for this brilliant British business.
When we think about flowers for weddings and flowers that we buy for our homes we rarely give much thought about where they come from.
According to Defra, just 14% of cut flowers sold in the UK are grown in Britain. That’s a terrible statistic.
The remaining 86% come from the Netherlands, or from warmer countries further away including Ecuador, Kenya and Ethiopia. The air miles they incur suddenly make them a less than pretty ‘must have’. It makes me feel sad and feel a little bit sick if I’m honest thinking about the hundreds of bunches of flowers I’ve bought over the years without knowing this statistic.
I was thrilled when Rachel contacted me 12 months ago to tell me she was creating and launching a flower farm here in Gloucestershire. British grown flowers and an absolutely exquisite collection to choose from. With this Gloucestershire based business I have no reason to ever buy flown in flowers again.
There are click through links to our other photography shoots at the end of this blog which are well worth a look.
When these images were taken The Tetbury Flower Company flower farm in full flower and the brief for that day was to take the images to showcase three different styles of wedding flowers.
These were Summer blooms, a more Autumnal palette, and a much looser more freer and tumbling example.
The Tetbury Flower Company will be providing seasonal British flowers that will be available to buy wholesale whether you are a florist or need flowers for your wedding or party.
Wedding flowers available for 2024 will be perfect for bridal bouquets, buttonholes, bridesmaids posies, table and venue styling and of course gifts for guests and those special friends and family members.
Event flowers as beautiful collections in buckets all ready for you to arrange for a special party or anniversary will also be available.
You can also buy buckets of blooms to arrange yourselves in the same colour palette or you can simply buy buckets of mixed flowers to use as you wish as a private client as well.
Rachel will also create bespoke large arrangements in a vase for that special someone.
A small selection of the images taken for the new online ‘catalogue’ of flowers can be seen towards the end of this blog. They are truly stunning!
A: “We have an ongoing relationship!”
A: “Taking pics in the church porch!”
Note: this is the same Church where Rachel got married a number of years ago to the very wonderful Mr TTFC! And yes I photographed that day too!
A: “Yes, everything went to plan, resulting in great images!”
A: “The need to showcase the British grown seasonal flowers for weddings and to showcase the flower field in full bloom so that we might start cataloguing for our website for 2024.”
A small selection of the locally and British grown flowers at The Tetbury Flower Company and available for 2024. All photographed in situ.
There’s a huge abundance of wildlife and I ended up having my photography time accompanied by a beautiful chorus of gentle buzzing and chatter from the bees…
